Pandora – or Panda as she is happy to be known – is someone who lives her dream each day: Working with her lovely greyhounds, and seeing the wonderful difference her Animal Assisted Therapy makes.

Supporting people is important to her. Panda is a trained Lifeline Crisis Supporter, and is currently studying her Diploma of Counseling through the College of Applied Professionals in Sydney.

What makes Panda a great operator is that she accepts people for who they are. And, she is experienced in bringing trauma informed care to her customers. But what does that mean?

For Panda, it is about understanding how people’s trauma and traumatic experiences can affect her customers, and that the way people cope with this can present differently on a given day.

“For me, it is knowing how important it is to provide a ‘safe space’ so that someone can feel accepted for who they are, and what they are dealing with.

“And that’s the role the greyhounds have – they give unconditional love and affection regardless of the person,” she said.

Panda is a trained Lifeline Crisis Supporter, and is currently studying her Diploma of Counseling through the College of Applied Professionals in Sydney. She has also completed her DV Alert training.
